Fluvial

Winner of the 2014 Green Room Award for Outstanding Work by an Emerging Artist. A large-scale kinetic percussion instrument is used to create a work of shimmering textural extremes. Fluvial draws its inspiration from water currents, transmutation and ritual. A horizon of quivering metals and glass are suspended above an eight-meter bed of granite and water. Glass bottles quiver and collide; overlapping metal tubes create glistening harmonic swells as wind chimes hover and sway over the instrument. Fluvial renders the percussion instrument into a teeming, fluid mass, moving between the ecstatic and the absurd.

‘As thought provoking as it is beautiful… Theatrically stunning, aurally stimulating, Fluvial is an unmissable experience.’ – RealTime / Partial Durations.
